Life can turn in an instant. One single event can be life-changing, another portends our death. What do we do with this uncertainty? Are we afraid? Do we live in fear?
In the Buddhist tradition pain, suffering and death hold the possibility to awaken us and teach us how to live fully. It also offers a way to transcend pain and suffering with a concept that calls for embracing the very thing that causes us pain and suffering and to accept it, move and flow with it as part of our path.

We live in a world that’s more than comfortable to talk about medical tests, chronic and life-threatening diseases and all the ways we can suffer on our way to death but not comfortable to talk about death itself.
There is ample evidence that we have an excessive fear of death, but what’s less obvious is that it’s founded on our faulty ideas of what it means to live and to love, which means that our fear of death can and has had deadly effects on our ability to live.
From time to time someone comes along and says this could be different and shares their life experience, knowledge and study that explains just how easy it can be to overcome such an intense fear. Let me introduce Clare Goldsberry and her book – The Illusion of Life and Death: Mind, Consciousness and Eternal Being.

Fear of death is likely the greatest fear of humankind. It is this fear that creates a reluctance to live life to its fullest. Clare Goldsberry’s journey through the illness and death of her partner gave her an extraordinary new understanding of the meaning of life and why we create our world as we do, and of how we die. Death is not the end-game of life but merely the transition from one experience to another as consciousness moves us through different levels of awareness.

“Dying is easy,” said Clare Goldsberry’s partner as he was passing away.
What is life? What is death? Who hasn’t pondered this great transition? How do we face into it with courage and awareness? Goldsberry explores these eternal questions with answers from Judeo-Christianity, Eastern philosophies, quantum science, and ageless wisdom. We’ll be guided in a meditation and have time for sharing among participants.
Author Goldsberry’s book, The Illusion of Life and Death, explores what it means to live fearlessly and die gracefully. Her journey includes working with the elderly and ill whose beliefs and fears about dying often cause grave suffering. This workshop is an outgrowth of caring for her partner, Brent, who eventually died from esophageal cancer. As a Hospice volunteer for two years after his death, she became acutely aware of how important this knowledge is for both the dying and and their families.
Clare Goldsberry is a life-long student of religion and a spiritual seeker who has embraced an eclectic form of theology that spans the ages from Hinduism and Buddhism, to the philosophies of the Ancient Wisdom teachers and to quantum physics.
